There are two Churches within the civil parish of East Brent. These are The Church of St Mary, The Blessed Virgin, Church Road, East Brent (Church of England) and The Methodist Church, Brent Road, East Brent.
The church is built in the Transition style, consisting of chancel, nave of five bays, aisles, south porch and an embattled western tower of five stages, with low pinnacles and a lofty spire, and containing a clock and 6 bells. The main body of the current church building dates to the twelth century. A tower and spire were added around one hundred years later. The oldest two of the six bells in the tower, still in use date from 1440 and 1450. The clock was added to the tower circa. 1840, this chimes on the treble bell. Much of the glass in the stained glass windows dates from the fifteenth century, as do the ornately carved wooden pews, which were brought to East Brent from Glastonbury by Abbot John Selwood (vicar from 1467 to 1493) . The ornately carved wooden pews bear the initials of Abbot Selwood.
The Ecclesiastical Parish of East Brent merged with the Ecclesiastical Parishes of East Brent, Brent Knoll and Lympsham to form one Eccesiastical Parish known as "The Parish of Three Saints".
The Church is open daily - 9.00am to 4.00pm, visitors are welcome to rest for a while and enjoy the serenity it offers. The Church Office is open 10.00 to 13.00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and sometimes open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when staffed by volunteers.
Worship times are advertised in the porch and are available inside on a leaflet called 'Where to Worship'.

East Brent Methodist Church was built in 1871 by the Wesleyans. The stained glass window was acquired from Lympsham Methodist Church in 1992 when Lympsham Methodist Church closed. It is installed over entrance door.
In 1959/1960 land at the side of church purchased, from funds donated by local farmer and Methodist, Joe Gilling of Rooksbridge. On this The Methodist Hall (at the time a Methodist Schoolroom) was built.
The Methodist Hall can be hired for Children’s Parties and other functions.
The Church is part of the Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea Circuit and within that is linked with Brean, Brent Knoll, West Huntspill and Burnham Methodist Churches.
